UK Product Manager – (Smart Lighting Controls) £65-75k+ Neg Basic plus High OTE + Car  


Our clients are an international lighting organisation, specializing in the manufacture and distribution of high quality, energy-saving, connected LED lighting products. The Group targets 5 key verticals: Logistics, Hospitality, Retail, Commercial and Industrial lighting sectors. The Group is recognised as an industry leader in the development of connected lighting solutions.
To drive the connected lighting strategy in their core verticals, they are looking to appoint a key member to their product marketing team with experience gained in lighting controls / IOT applications. In this role you will lead the assigned portfolio across the UK, driving business growth to maximise profitability in each of the business Hubs. Specifics include product strategy development, product ranging, campaign & launch planning and execution, training, controlling assigned budgets and measurement of ROI through clear metrics.
With this Company, product marketing functions are not only vital to bringing the right product to market for the right application and at the right time & price; this team also offers strong support to the international sales teams to develop target applications and key customers within these verticals.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defines Product Strategy and New Product Development Roadmaps for assigned segment.
  • Execution of strategy with active management of the product lifecycle, controlling SKU count and managing product performance against budget, with corrective tactical action.
  • Preparation of market and product briefs, managing both the product development and launch process, for profitable growth.
  • Maintains a detailed understanding of segment products, applications, competitors, products and lighting industry practices.
  • Provides cross functional leadership for assigned lighting controls category.
  • Maintains the Product Database for assigned products to ensure content accuracy to feed ERP and Marketing resources such as catalogues and websites.
  • Leadership of promotional materials, catalogues, advertising, website maintenance, product packaging, labels and user instructions ensuring compliance with both corporate guidelines and legal requirements.
  • Work in close liaison with the supply chain team, giving guidance on product sales forecasting for the product category, ensuring inventory remains at acceptable levels and stock turn targets are achieved.
  • Define and execute product improvements and value analysis.
  • Management of internal and communications for product range, to ensure appropriate message dissemination through the "trade"
  • Ability to support the sales force in front of the customer, to secure profitable business.
  • Ability to plan and implement training to ensure Group staff develops product and technical knowledge appropriate to role. As required deliver training for end customers.
  • Achieve agreed budgeted financial and non-financial outcomes.
  • At the time of product deletion, ensure final inventory sale and removal from marketing materials including the offering of substitutes/alternatives.
  • Ensure all the activities within the product segment comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and the Group’s ethical standards.
  • Active participation in the company Product Management Network.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Appropriate market experience in a business like that of group, such as lighting or electrical products.
  • Ideally experience with lighting solutions and control system, building management system or digital control in Commercial and/or Industrial applications
  • A tertiary qualification in Lighting, Engineering, Marketing, Business or a similar discipline.
  • Robust technical knowledge of lighting / IOT products and eagerness to learn. 
  • Solid presenter internally and in front of the customer / other 3rd party audiences.
  • A foreign language would be an asset.
